ALBENS CIDER – ORIGINAL
Overview & Origin
Albens Cider is a premium hard cider produced in Jembrana, Bali, by PT Indosarnia. It’s crafted from 100% locally selected Fuji apples, fermented with French Champagne yeast, and contains 4.9% ABV. The brand’s founder, Dina Rimandra Handayani, launched the product after studying cider culture in London and continued to develop it at home starting in 2010; commercial production began in 2012.
Variants
Aside from the Original Fuji Apple cider, Albens offers flavored options: Apple & Strawberry, Apple & Mango, and Apple & Lychee—each at 4.9% ABV
Ingredients & Characteristics
The Original variant includes water, sugar, 7.5% apple concentrate, CO₂, yeast, malic acid, and sulphites. It pours a clear pale-gold color, with fine bubbles and a crisp, slightly sweet profile. Typical tasting notes include apple and citrus aromas, medium sweetness, low acidity, and a well-structured balance.
